Calliandra, a shrub native of Central
America, was introduced in Uganda
and has been g
rown by many
farmers for more than ten years.
Farmers appreciate Calliandra because of its fast growth even on poor soils and re-grows after cutting, its use in soil conservation, its excellent cuality as supplementary fodder its continuous production 01 for livestock, stakes its fuel wood and its ability to improve soil fertility.
