Abstract:

According to the World Food Programme
(WFP), despite the increase in the global food
production, 800 million people around the
world are still trapped in poverty and hunger.
While the strategy to tackle this challenge has
mainly directed its attention towards rising
food production, addressing post-harvest
food losses could also be an important pathway to increase food availability, alleviate
poverty and improve nutrition.
