Forests, trees and woodlands are important resources and they play multiple ecological, economic, social and cultural roles. Forestry makes a substantial contribution to the nation’s economic development and well-being, although the extent of this is not fully recognized. This therefore suggests that there are many opportunities for poverty alleviation, for economic development and for environmental improvement through forest sector development
