Abstract:
In Uganda smeilbolder dairy farming contributes
substantially th the countr'y's milk and meat supply,
especially in urban areas where there is land shortage.
The major feed resource base used by the urban
smeliholder includes: Elephant gress,[Pennisetum
purpureum), crop residues and forage legumes such
as Labalab purpureus: Siratro (Macroptilium
atropurpureurn) and Contra (Centroséma pubesceris).
