Abstract:
Technological progress in agriculture is crucial for alleviating poverty in
developing countries. It is essential to overcoming the constraint on food
production growth imposed by limited land resources. Expansion of employment
opportunities for the poor, and hence a permanent solution of the
poverty problem, is virtually impossible in most developing countries without technological
innovation.
