Abstract:
This study for the establishment of a National Agricultural
Research Organization was undertaken by a NARO Task Force
designated by the Government of Uganda in cooperation with the
United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and
the International Service for National Agricultural Research
(ISNAR). The main purpose was to plan for the consolidation of
all agricultural research in Uganda in one semi-autonomous
national research organization that will introduce improved
methods and systems of planning, organization, and management of
research for the maximum benefit of the agricultural economy of
Uganda.
