Abstract:
Climate change, arising from anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, is a serious challenge facing the international community. Ever since the earth Summit of 1990, available information indicates that greenhouse gas emissions are still increasing and that the rate of growth is much higher in major (advanced) developing countries. The continued increase in greenhouse gas emissions makes it difficult to achieve the objective of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), thus exposing the global community to higher risks.
