Abstract:
Mbarara Zonal Agricultural Research and
Development Institute (MBAZARDI) is a located four
miles off the Mbarara -Bushenyi road. Its mandate is
to conduct client oriented, demand driven and market
responsive research in crop and animal husbandry. The
Institute’s research activities currently cover fourteen
districts ie Mbarara, Isingiro, Ntungamo, Sheema,
Bushenyi, Mitooma, Rubiriizi, Buhweju, Ibanda,
Kiruhura, Lyantonde, Sembabule, Rakai and Kyotera.
Part of the Institute’s mandate is to use demonstration to
provide practical training to farmers, extension workers and
students within the mentioned districts and beyond.
