Abstract:
Mukono Zonal Agricultural Research & Develop-ment Institute (MUZARDI) is one of the 9 Pub-lic Zonal Agricultural Research & Development Institutes that were created as a result of the NARS Act in 2005. MUZARDI has gone through an `evolution' process to become the institute it is today. It originated from a District Farm Insti-tute (DFI). NARO effectively took it over on 3rd July 2000 after changing its status to an Agricul-tural Research and Development Centre (ARDC). Under the NARS reforms it was elevated to Zonal Agricultural Research and Development Insti-tute.
