Abstract:
The Directorate of Animal Resources is responsible for spearheading the development of the
livestock sector in the country. The mandate of the Directorate of Animal Resources is to support,
promote and guide livestock, apiculture and sericulture production to enable the country to
achieve and maintain quantitative and qualitative self sufficiency in animal protein , animal by
products, honey, bees, wax, propolis and skill products. The overall objective of the Directorate
is to support sustainable animal diseases and vector control market oriented Animal Production,
food quality and safety for improved food security and household income.
