Abstract:
Boers bucks are most commonly used for crossbreeding for meat. The Boer goats originate from South Africa and are characteristically white with a chestnut-red head and white blaze. The horns are prominently rounded and set well apart growing with a gradual backward curve. The head is strong with Roman nose and large eyes. Ears are very visibly broad, drooping and of medium length. The coat is soft, smooth and glossy and the hairs are short to medium in length. Boer goats are excellent meat producers and produce good quality skin. They have high reproductive rates of up to 7% triplets and 50% twins.
