Abstract:

PRiDe project has been conducting various trials and verification cultivation on rice, following extensive activities conducted by Tsuboi-san and experts since his arrival at NaCRRI in 2004. These works have already been compiled as manuals and guidelines and distributed to service providers and institutions involved. Yet, more rice production requires many challenging and systematic works to be conducted and completed in collaboration with various stakeholders to maximize the benefit. Having 1 year and 6 months left before the termination of the PRiDe project, it is high time for all those concerned to PRiDe project to share accomplishments made so far and any issues and challenges so as to our concerted effort be fruitful and beneficial to our farmers. At the same time, it would be a good opportunity to exchange views on future collaboration beyond the PRiDe and Japan and Uganda Rice cooperation program which is to end in 2018.
