Abstract:
Eucalyptus, a genus originating from Australia, has been grown in Uganda since 1906.The tree is fast growing compared to other exotic tree species. Over 97% of Uganda's population relies on fuel wood , a significant amount of which is provided by Eucalypts. Eucalypts are also a good source of fencing posts, electric poles, and timber. Thus Eucalypt is a very important tree species in Uganda.
