From the end of March to the end of September 1960 was spent studying algae while based at the laboratory of the East African Freshwater Fisheries Research Organisation, linja, Uganda. Part of the time was devoted to investigating phytoplankton, especially from Lake Victoria and Lake Kyoga, and there follows a brief account of
some of this work
