Abstract:
Kachwekano Zonal Agricultural Research and Development Institute (KAZARDI),
formerly Kachwekano Agricultural Research and Development Centre (ARDC), is
one of the zonal institutes created by Government in its deliberate effort to
decentralize research and bring research services and products nearer to beneficiaries.
Kachwekano ZARDI is there to address agricultural research and development needs
of the Southwestern highlands agro-ecological zone (SWHAEZ). Administratively
the zone comprises of the districts of Kabale. Kisoro. Rukungiri and Kanungu.
However, technologies and information generated here can be applied to other areas
outside the zone, but with similar agro-ecological conditions.
