Abstract:
Tie workshop was organised by three organisations, OXFAM, COOPIBO-Uganda and
SNV. These are international Non Governmental Organisations (NG0s) operating in
L ganda. The three organisations are engaged in poverty eradication programmes with a
focus on food security in various districts of Uganda. OXFAM's purpose is to eradicate
poverty, distress and avoidable suffering throughout the world. COOPIBO-Uganda's
programmes aim at improving the well-being and empowerment of resource poor farmers
and it implements its programmes through farmer groups or local NG0s. SN'i is involved in
various programmes of rural development including literacy, educaticn, water and environmental sanitation and food security
