Abstract:
Ills report gives an account of what was done during the year from July 1996 to July 1997. It i a result of 'member national programs' efforts enhanced by PRAPACE network ties. Tlx focus in the first section of this report is on priority areas such as the development of manzgement technolpgies for potato late blight control, the propagation of planting material though the ialontal farmer-ta3ed seed system and the evaluation of sweetpotato germplasm for resistance to virus and aiaptation to Eifferent environments. Salient results on the release of new varieties and sweetpotato utilizatior EC iEcluded. Ttaining and institution building outputs are highlighted. A statement of expenditure incurred ty tie network is also provided.
