Abstract:

Notwithstanding such potential, many Ugandans appear to be at consierable nutritional risk The country exhibits one of the highest levels of stunting (a measurement of height-for-age) among young children in Sub-Saharan Africa. (See Chart 1) Suci high levels of stunting are normally associated with inadequate amounts of food at the household level, at least seasonally, year after year. When this occurs in a country where there appears to be sufficient food production, a number of questions can be raised: Are the production data accurate?
