Abstract:
The agricultural industry in Uganda, will for the foreseeable future remain the mein
stay and engine of growth for the country's economy. Over 88% of the country's
population live in rural areas and they get their livelihood from agriculture. For 1993
and 1994, the value of agricultural exports accounted for 94% and 95% respectively
of the total value of exports. In other words, the country continues to depend mainly
on the agriculture sector for its foreign exchange earnings
