Abstract:
With the outgoing Chairperson, Mr. Kanyagia, in the chair, Steering Committee
(SC) members were welcomed to Kawanda Research Station by its Director, Dr. Israel
Kibirige-Sebunya, He outlined the programmes and activities based at this station,
Madagascar's representative, present for the first time, was particularly
welcomed. Apologies had been received from the representatives of Sudan and of CIDA,
who had other commitments that coincided with the rearranged dates for this year's
meeting. Members expressed their prayers and best wishes for the coordinator and
members of Somalia's grain legume programme, with which contact had not been
possible for some months,
