Abstract:
The survey was part of the project activities of the Project UGA/91/P02, Enhancing Women's
Status Through Heifer Farming and Ownership which is implemented by the Ministry of
Agriculture. Animal Industry and Fisheries; financed and executed by UNFPA.
The broad objective of the project is to improve the quality of life of women in small holding
farming communities by promoting social and economic self reliance and thereby influencing
their health and fertility behaviour.
