Abstract:
New ICRISAT germplasm of 3 cereals: Sorghum (52 lines), pearl millet (109 lines) and finger millet (194 lines) evaluated for drought tolerance and grain quality at Nabuin ZARDI (pearl millet only) and Serere satellite station (sorghum, finger millet and pearl millet). Trials were established in late August (Nabuin ZARDI) and mid September (Serere satellite station) due to delayed release of funds and or/ absence of rains. Data collected was on germination stands, plant stands after thinning, days to flowering, disease incidence and severity at dough stage, tiller numbers and plant stands at harvest (only pearl millet trials reached phsiological maturity and have been harvested). Sorghum and finger millet trials at Serere satellite station are still on-going.
