Abstract:

In Uganda, maize has and continues to be one of the main livelihoods food
security crop used in filling famine gap. The demand for maize has enabled
extensive cultivation including utilization of degraded lands (fig.3) . Thus to remove
low production traps, selected resilient agronomic techniques enhancing better
crop growth were applied, validated and adopted especially by smallholder
farmers in Karamoja sub region
