Abstract:
Upland rice is gaining importance and is grown both as a staple and cash crop in Eastern and Northern Uganda. The varieties which have been developed have a yield potential of up to 2,500 kg per ha (un milled).
Varieties
ABILONY" (IRAT 112) is recommended for Eastern and Northern Uganda.
The varieties UK-2, NP-2 and NP-3 recently released are suitable for both upland and lowland conditions.
