Abstract:
The goal of the training was to build capacity of agro-forestry farmers to grow and mange trees for
commercial purposes on farmers' gardens. The purposes for which the training was organized
included the following:
• Build capacity of the farmers to mobilize the community members for agro-forestry skills
• Build capacity of farmers to work in groups
• Build the capacity of farmers in the importance of gender in agro-forestry research and
development activies
• Build capacity of farmers in the contribution of trees to food security and the economy
• Build capacity of farmers in seed collection and processing
• Build capacity of farmers in tree nursery establishment and management
• Build capacity of farmersin_On-farm tree management
