Abstract:
Coffee has long been the leading export commodity of Uganda. Arabica and Robusta are the two coffee types grown in Uganda. Arabica coffee has better quality and is commonly found in the high altitude areas of the eastern, west Nile, western, and south-western regions of the country. A number of Arabica varieties are grown, majority of it being Bugisu local, SL14, SL28 and KP423. Other varieties such as, Ruiru 11, Catimors NG9257, NG9258 and NG9260 (commonly called lowland i Arabica) exist but not yet recommended for commercial adoption
