Abstract:
This is UBIC's maiden annual report, highlighting the project's achievements over a one-year period and outlining plans for the coming year. This short report is packed with news features and photos to help readers to visualise some of the activities and events that UBIC carried out in the year. Right from the launch of UBIC, through the process of conducting perceptions studies, up to conducting two successful essay contests, this report will form a critical resource material for partners, researchers, and communication practitioners seeking to implement similar activities. In 2014, UBIC conducted the second round of Biotech Essay contests and got an overwhelming response with 117submissions from twelve secondary and tertiary institutions. UBIC plans to double the number of submissions and participating institutions in 2015 and a Call for Submission of entries will be made in the first quarter of the year.
