Preparation of planting materials:
i) Clear the bushes
ii) Plough the land
iii) For rapid multiplication Mound to mound: 1m x 1m at a seed rate of 3 vines per mound
iv) For seed production Ridge to ridge: 1m x 1m and 60cm high (knee level high) at a seed rate of 1 vine at 30cm between vines
Other soil treatments:
i) Spray with recommended pesticides
ii) Proper and timely harvesting
iii) Do first weeding one month after planting (use hands)
iv) Do second weeding as soon as weeds emerge as you do chilling up the soil back to the veins.
v) Practice crop rotation
When to plant:
Spacing:
i) Make mounds (1m x 1m)
ii) Making ridges (1m x 1m)
